Can't say I've ever read anything involving a kelpie before. So this is a first. Nor have I ever heard of this "warden" mythos. But the authors do a great job of teaching the reader about all the new things without it feeling like I'm in a lecture or something. It's very gradual and comfortable. I never felt confused or left-out, except in those moments where I was supposed to because the MC was confused or left out.Macey is a kelpie princess living on land. Things happen. She meets a trio of guys. They can control certain elements. There are apparently 7 elements. Not just four, like most of us are taught.She then is kind of forced to go on a bit of an adventure. It seems there's some greater force in the universe that needs their help. They're not all of the wardens. They're not the first wardens, nor will they be the last.Throughout this adventure, we meet new species, new wardens (she seems to only be romantically involved/invested with the initial trio of Cam, Jared, and Flint). To be honest, I'm not sure how things will work out if there are multiple romantic groups. But the success will depend on what is needed of the wardens moving forward.I'm really intrigued to see where this goes. The characters have piqued my interest. I don't find myself LOVING any of them. But I do think they're all mostly likable (even cat-guy, very interested to see what happens there).

This books is a RH, so if you are not into a FMC having multiple partners and sexual content, this is not for you.I was so happy to find this book, I have always loved kelpies but had not found many books where they were featured let alone having the be the main character! The co-authors have really thought out the mythology and characters which makes this an enjoyable read. This book will introduce you to multiple mythological creatures you have never heard of (or I had not) and make you want to run out and learn more about them.Macey is a kelpie who is kidnapped! Her kidnappers turn out to be part of a group of Wardens and Macey is one of the missing four that they have been searching for. The Voice, the bad guy, is trying to take Macey and possibly is holding another Warden as prisoner so they can not fulfill the Prophecy.Join the Wardens as they struggle to fight an unseen enemy and find out how to become the Wardens of the Prophecy. And while you are there, join me on the Kelpie Club Bench... *pats seat*

I adored this audiobook by Laura Greenwood and Skye MacKinnon! I loved that they went with a male narrator, it was exactly what the book needed and I CANNOT WAIT to listen him do the rest of the series ❤️❤️❤️I liked the story of the 7 Wardens. I enjoyed how they met and their different abilities and how they are different supernatural beings. I didn't think I was going to like Jared as much as I did, but he surprised me. I think Angus did a phenomenal job with his personality. I adored Camdan! I wasn't 100% sold on Flint's voice but I love his character. The adorable moments these guys showed us in Book 1 was fantastic. I think the only reason I couldn't give the book 5 stars all around is I am not 100% sold on Macey yet. I think my only complaint from Book 1 was that her mind was mostly about jumping them and their physical appearance. I am excited to see them learn more about each other and strengthening their relationships even further. I also wasn't a huge fan of them all shacking up right away but I understand why. Enjoyed the way Laura and Skye described Macey in her kelpie form. Oh, wish only Jared called her little kelpie (or just the guys), not all the other male characters that did. Loved how different all 3 of them were with Macey (and how steamy their scenes were!). I also am interested to see what happens with Ishban, Amber, and Catman ❤️Again, Angus makes this story come to life and I am really happy that Laura and Skye went out on a limb and picked a man to perform the narration instead of a woman. I thought Angus added a lot of value (and did a good job with the different characters, especially "The Voice' and the Malan). Hope book 2 isn't too far away on audio, will snatch it up right away!

This book/series is based on Scottish mythology and focuses on the Legend of the Seven Wardens for the 7 elements (fire, wind, earth, water, air, lightning, and ice). Macey is a Kelpie princess who is "accidentally" kidnapped by Camdan. She wakes up to find that she has been transported to the house that Camdan shares with Flint and Jared. She finds out that Camdan "took" her because he felt a connection to her. We eventually find out that Camdan and Flint think that she is the warden for the Water element, Camdan is the warden for Wind, Flint for Fire, and Jared (who is an incubus) is the warden for Earth. Macey is attracted to each of the men and they all decide to begin a journey to try and learn more about legend of the Seven Wardens. This is the first book of the series, so it provides some of the background information for the series storyline and it does end with a cliffhanger. For me, this storyline is a really unique storyline and introduced me to new characters and mythology that I've never read about before. Because of the uniqueness of the story, I was interested and invested in seeing how the story was going to progress. I am planning on reading the remaining books in this series.
